Artist DHellums
I spent many years living in Scotland as a young man hiking in the Pentland Hills, just outside of Edinburgh. This is where I grew to love the outdoors and the flora and fauna that surrounded me there. Scotland is beautiful, but a harsh contrast to the abundant, warm sunlight of my childhood home in Texas which I greatly missed. I am sure that is why to this day, I paint with such intense light and bright colors.
Artist Facts
D Hellums is a highly acclaimed award-winning artist. One of his many awards was winning the coveted "Clem Ottis" painting scholarship at Sam Houston State University in Texas. He is classically trained with a master's degree in fine art. He has sold his artwork both nationally and internationally. His artwork is presently being shown in The State of the Arts Gallery, Sarasota, He and his lovely wife Elizabeth have lived in Bradenton, Florida for many years.
